It may take a little while for the video to load. Terry got me a new camera that takes great digital videos. The only problem is that the blog has some issues with big file sizes, so I'm trying the youtube route. We'll see how it goes.
This video really captures his developmental moment. Within the space of about three days he went from a hesitant sitter who flopped over a lot to a really great independent sitter who only occasionally falls when he over-reaches himself.
This video also shows him reaching further and further and really intentionally grabbing for particular toys. I love that the new independence of sitting is also allowing him to express more of his own emerging preferences.
That over-reaching and flopping is supposedly the middle step towards kids learning how to crawl. The flopping transforms into more purposive belly flops, that eventually morph into him realizing he can tuck his feet under himself and support himself more on his hands. So that is the direction we're heading, but so far no action on the crawling yet.
